Crystals of Añakiwi
This collection of paintings was created during an artist retreat in Peru where I studied paint-making with naturally found pigments. All colors are created with foraged minerals from the Añakiwi river which is at the base of the Cordillera Escalera Reserve in the Amazon jungle.
I’m embracing the warmth in the spectrum of colors I found here. The heat of the afternoon sun and thunderstorms. The warmth of my body as I hiked to different areas and hand ground the paints. The ease allowed in my mind as a result.
