I was in such an empty state, completely absorbing the simplicity of the landscapes.

I realized how sometimes not acting on something, not adding another layer was actually as much effort as putting something down. Compared to my previous body of work, where I felt I had to do more and add more. These paintings, I did less and that was just as significant.
