Print Framing Tips
Thank you so much for purchasing a print! It’s so exciting to welcome a new art piece into your home. I know figuring out a frame for your new art piece can be a daunting task. Depending on your budget and preferences, there are a few ways to go about framing a print.
Check out some of my tips below!
Acid Free Materials
Since these are archival quality prints, the best thing to do is to use all acid-free archival materials to frame. This will make sure the print doesn’t change over a long period of time.
Matting the Print
I highly reccomend getting a mat for the print. It helps accentuate it’s features, and adds more space and presence to the artwork. The final framed size will actually be larger than the print size. For example a matted 16” x 16” print could measure about 19” x 19” framed.
DIY Framing
There are a couple online retailers where you can order frame materials to put it together yourself. You can also look in local thrift shops and home decor stores to find a suitable frame, and buy a mat and backing to custom fit the inside either from a local frame shop or online.
Online Custom Framing
This is where you mail the art piece in and send your instructions, and they mail back to you a ready to hang piece!
Take it to your local Framer
You can share one of the photos below with a local framer or dream up something unique to you and your space!
